Northfield Foundry and Machine Co. was established in Northfield, Minnesota, in 1920 by the Machacek family. It was during the 1920s that the foundation for the manufacturing of woodworking machinery was established. Steady growth occurred through the years as Northfield became the leader in the manufacturing of intermediate and heavy duty woodworking machinery. The company established a reputation for its application of hydraulics to woodworking machinery. Through the years, Northfield has also established itself as a manufacturer of custom machinery in areas other than the woodworking industry. The company is still owned and managed by third and fourth generation members of the Machacek family.

Northfield machinery is made available from distributors throughout North America and other world markets.

Part availability for current and discontinued machinery is excellent and is backed up by factory service technicians that can handle everything from tune-ups to complete rebuilds, both on site or at the factory.

On new machine sales, the company encourages the distributor and customer to work with the factory during and after the machine selection process.
